Part 2 from “Good Morning Hope”
.‘Oh, so you do speak English?’ the lady asked.
‘Yes, we do,’ we replied.
‘That’s great to be able to speak at this early age,’ she said while nodding her head with appreciation. ‘So you must be identical twins, is that true?’
‘We suppose it is,’ we replied.
‘It should be, because I really can’t tell you two apart. What’s the difference?’
‘Well, there’s no differences in identical twins,’ Deni replied.
‘Well, I already see a difference; you must be the loud one.’
‘I was talking about the physical difference, Miss,’ she replied.
‘Well, I am sure I can come up with something, but you have to give me a bit of time,’ she said as she began to think. The lady had already lost interest in her job and was now trying to enter inside the world of twins. Next to her, Besi was standing speechless, as if he was now out of the game. Hurray! In front of them, we were standing upright and tall, as if we were some kind of species who had to obey the rules of examinations. After three minutes, the lady broke the silence.
‘Oh, I give up. What’s the difference—please tell me?’
‘Well, I have a mole on the right side of my neck,’ replied Deni.
‘Let me have a look …’ she stood up from her chair and put her head forward to be able to see clearly. ‘I see … so there’s a physical difference too. Why did you deny it?’ She was looking at Deni, as if she was searching for some sort of explanation.
‘Well, you know, I like to test people,’ she replied.
